Global Security Verification (GSV)

Definition

Global Security Verification (GSV)

Global Security Verification (GSV) is a global supply chain security verification program developed by Intertek. It helps importers and suppliers identify and reduce security risks in cross-border freight transportation and global supply chains.[1]

GSV incorporates multiple international supply chain security frameworks, including C-TPAT, PIP and AEO, and uses a harmonized approach to assess supply chain security practices.[1]

GSV 2.0 assessment areas include risk assessment, business partner security, cybersecurity, conveyance and international transportation instrument security, seal security, procedural security, physical security, access controls, personnel security, and education and training.[2]

Why does it matter?

GSV helps international buyers assess whether a supplier has established systematic controls for global supply chain security. It is especially relevant to manufacturers involved in exports, container shipping and cross-border supply chains.
