ISO 22716
Definition
ISO 22716 — Cosmetics — Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) — Guidelines on Good Manufacturing Practices
ISO 22716 is international GMP guidance developed for the cosmetics industry. Its official scope covers the production, control, storage and shipment of cosmetic products.[1]
The standard primarily addresses GMP management related to product quality. ISO also states that ISO 22716 as a whole does not cover occupational safety for factory personnel or environmental protection, and does not apply to research and development activities or the distribution of finished products.[1]
Why does it matter?
For cosmetic wipes and personal care wipes, ISO 22716 is one of the internationally recognized cosmetic GMP frameworks.
It helps brands and buyers assess whether a manufacturer has established management systems appropriate to cosmetics production across personnel, premises, equipment, raw materials, production, quality control, deviations, complaints, recalls and documentation.
