ISO 45001
Definition
ISO 45001 — Occupational health and safety management systems — Requirements with guidance for use
ISO 45001 is an international standard for occupational health and safety (OH&S) management systems. It specifies management system requirements for managing occupational health and safety risks and improving OH&S performance.[1]
Its core topics include leadership, worker participation, hazard identification, risk assessment, legal requirements, emergency preparedness, incident investigation and continual improvement.[1]
Why does it matter?
ISO 45001 indicates that a manufacturer addresses not only product quality but also the identification and control of occupational health and safety risks through a systematic management system.
For major brands, retailers and multinational companies, it is often an important reference in supplier ESG, social responsibility and supply chain audits.
